Your indoor pool
The swimming channel is your private indoor pool, so to speak, where you will be taught Smart swim together with Roy Hinnen.
The Smart swim is aimed specifically at swimmers who only train 1-2 times a week and have lost their flexibility due to age, occupational posture or injury. With 6 simple changes, this swim coaching helps you to improve your swimming style efficiently – without spending any additional time on core or strength training.
Simply paraphrased:
- Bring the arm a little deeper into the water when pulling and keep it stretched longer at the front.
- The forward movement of the arm comes from the shoulder joint – the arm “falls” forward instead of being actively lifted.
- The elbow remains flat during the pull, the arm remains almost straight and pulls to the back of the leg in one go.
- Always breathe on your favorite side using double breathing to ensure you get enough air.
- In the air phase, the arm is almost stretched; imagine throwing a ball forward – this will help your water position.
- The leg kick follows the six-leg kick technique and becomes more intense when turning out to breathe.
Roy Hinnen has been coaching in the swimming channel since 2016 and has advised over 2000 athletes and learned a lot. A lot is possible in theory, but it’s different in practice. So make it as simple as possible so that you can develop in the time you are swimming.
